There's more to drawing than putting pencil to paper, much more. The classes are designed to introduce new techniques, teach new skills, refine the skills you have.

- A fantastic introduction to drawing in pencil, charcoal, pastels, chalk and more. Explore the differences between these fun materials and even combine effects to deepen your understanding of drawing.
- Drawing is so much fun. Render images from your imagination, recreate a memory, capture a scene, or even just make fun marks and abstract lines — it’s all totally magical!
To prepare, it is important for kids to know to take their time, go slow and enjoy the process with their creations. When creating we will emphasize using different techniques and the art of adding small details. We will encourage enjoying the process, creativity, patience, and attention to details.
Parents, please discuss this expectation with children before the class in order to ensure your child understands that we will be creating with details and practice in mind.
Please note: Students should be seriously interested in drawing. Drawing is about practice, practice, practice!
As an alternative, there is a drawing component to the Exploratory Art Classes for students who prefer more variety.
